To Make 6 Servings: 2 cups water; 3/4 cup milk; 3 tablespoons margarine or butter; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1 pouch potato granules. To Make 13 Servings: 3-1/2 cups water; 1-1/2 cup milk; 6 tablespoons margarine or butter; 1 teaspoon salt; 2 pouches potato granules. To Make 20 Servings: 6 cups water; 2 cups milk; 1/2 cup margarine or butter; 1-1/2 teaspoons salt; 3 pouches potato granules. Stovetop Directions: 1. Heat water, milk, margarine and salt just to a boil in saucepan (bubbles are beginning to break on surface). 2. Remove from heat. Gradually add potato granules, stirring with fork until moistened. 3. Stir with fork about 30 seconds or until potatoes are desired consistency. Refrigerate leftovers. Microwave Directions: 1. Combine water, milk, margarine and salt in microwave-safe bowl. 2. Stir in potato granules gradually until moistened; cover. 3. Microwave on High: 2 Servings (Microwaving is not recommended for amounts over 6 servings. Preparation instructions developed using a 1100W microwave): 1-1/2 to 2 minutes. 6 Servings (Microwaving is not recommended for amounts over 6 servings. Preparation instructions developed using a 1100W microwave): 5-1/2 to 6 minutes. Caution: (bowl) and contents are hot. 4. Stir with fork about 30 seconds or until potatoes are desired consistency. Let stand 2 minutes before serving. Refrigerate leftovers. Preparation Hints: For stiffer potatoes, stir in a few more granules. For creamier potatoes, stir in a little more milk. Six servings (3 cups) prepared potatoes are equivalent to 1-1/2 pounds fresh potatoes. Stir-In Ideas: Prepare 6 servings of Idaho Mashed Potato Granules. Stir in any 1 of the following after potato granules are moistened. 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese; 2 tablespoons chopped green onions or fresh chives; 3 slices bacon, crispy cooked, crumbled.
